Hans graduated in 2001 from the University of Waterloo in the field of Mechanical Engineering and joined Smith + Andersen in Toronto later that year. Previously, Hans spent several coop work terms at Smith + Andersen so he started with industry experience. In 2007, Hans transferred from Smith + Andersen in Toronto to Emans Smith Andersen in Calgary and in 2008 became a principal. Hans is a LEED accredited professional. Among Hans' engineering accomplishments include Jamieson Place Tower, Keynote Development, CrossIron Mills Mall, The Banff Centre, and the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
