David graduated in 1983 from the University of Toronto in the field of electrical engineering. After 14 years in the industry, David, and the mechanical partners of Smith + Andersen, formed Smith and Andersen Electrical Engineering Inc. in 1997. David became president of the electrical group. Since that time, David has expanded the electrical group from one staff to more than 30 using the same principles set in place by the founding partners. Through his years in the critical power business and as the senior electrical engineer at the Royal Bank of Canada, David became highly specialized in power distribution, emergency and UPS power. Among his many accomplishments, David engineered the MaRS Discovery District, the Niagara Hilton, Royal Bank Data Centres, and Region of Peel Long Term Care Facilities.
