Emans Smith Andersen was established in Calgary in 1976. Emans Smith Andersen (ESA) has provided mechanical engineering services on a variety of commercial, institutional, retail and residential projects in Western Canada over 30 years of operation from Calgary. Over time we’ve assembled a variety of engineering talent to both complement and add to our core strengths.

ESA have maintained our association with Smith + and Andersen Consulting, founded in Toronto in 1965, and Smith + Andersen Consulting in Ottawa founded in 1977. In 2007, Smith + Andersen opened an office in Dubai and in Vancouver and Edmonton in 2009. Collectively we have continued to add the expertise necessary to build on our momentum and become a recognized and respected firm throughout the country. Though we emphasize the strength of our diverse skill-set, it is our capacity to leverage our specialties and undertake collaboration in-house that allows us to help clients achieve their goals on time and within budget.

Our growth over the years may confirm our status as one of Canada’s most prominent engineering firms, but in our minds, reputation stands not only on what we’ve done in the past. For us, the history of Emans Smith Andersen and Smith + and Andersen lives on in what we have yet to achieve.
